After a longer break following a burglary at my apartment last year, I went back to the studio to check if everything was still working. Powered up the system and immediately found a signal loss on one mixer channel. After some quick troubleshooting (and a helpful tip 🙏to check insert + filter), it turned out to be a faulty filter toggle switch. Detected and isolated within about two hours - just need to get some oxyd-off spray

The next morning I woke up with a sudden sense of motivation, which I associate with solving the problem the day before. I picked up some long-abandoned DIY projects and built a PRE BX module by . It felt awkward at first. My soldering iron tip wouldn’t take solder anymore, so I spent some time reactivating it — almost ran out of flux in the process — but in the end everything worked out.
