Scottish distillery Bruichladdich has released Yellow Submarine III, a 14-year-old single malt whisky bottled at 54.2% to mark the 25th anniversary of the distillery's reopening. The £100 whisky was aged in first-fill bourbon barrels and French red wine casks, offering flavors ranging from honey oats and shortbread to orange, apple, and sea salt. The "Yellow Submarine" name stems from a 2005 incident when local fishermen discovered a remote-controlled British Ministry of Defence submarine off Islay and brought it to the distillery, inspiring the original bottling. A replica of the yellow submarine still sits outside the distillery today.
