We’re proud to reflect on our participation in the EU MODEX - EUCPT-Tast exercise in Tenerife — one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences we've faced. As a subcontractor from the DSU Department for Emergency Situations, Romania, we were honored to support the consortium with logistics, administration, media coverage, visibility, and dissemination.

Special thanks to Harald Maierl-Fellner (CEO), Michael Kollroser, and Horst Gorup, whose on-site dedication ensured the project ran smoothly. Behind the scenes, Barbara Debre and Joe Riener provided tireless and flawless support from the back-office in Austria — your efforts did not go unnoticed!

Despite the complexity of the exercise, our team’s determination and synergy helped us overcome every obstacle. This exercise proved once again: the power of team effort.

After the EU MODEX - EUCPT-Tast Ireland exercise, we had a very labour intensive time. Now we can reflect, where we supported the EU MODEX Lot 4 team. Josef Riener, Harald Maierl-Fellner (CEO) and Michael Kollroser supported the EXCON team by preparing tablets for trainers and evaluators, purchasing equipment and EU-branded clothes, colur-coded tabards, vests, certificates and many more.

Barbara Debre and Daniel Bointner covered mostly the media part of the exercise, by pictures and videos, which have been uploaded to the different social media channels.

The exercise scenario was an advisory mission assessing Ireland's wildfire and forest fire preparedness, host nation support frameworks, and integration of aerial firefighting resources. This mission involved evaluating current policies, operational capabilities, available resources, and inter-agency coordination mechanisms to identify gaps and improvement areas and provide actionable recommendations.

Josef H. Riener, Project Manager of this MODEX stated: “With the strong support from our Irish partners and the good contributions of the consortium members we conducted this advisory mission exercise. This setup is very important because it focuses on training the management level of future members of European Civil Protection Teams”.

It was a challenging week not just for the participants, also for everyone, who worked behind the scenes, but neverthelesss a great learning opportunity for everybody, who was involved! 👏
