On 29 May, a monitoring activity was carried out at Public Beach in the Administrative Unit of Ishëm within the framework of the project.

📍The selected monitoring site was located along the Ishëm coastal area, a site exposed to pressures from human activities and plastic pollution.

During the activity, the presence, types and quantities of litter were observed and monitored according to the standardized beach litter monitoring protocol.

The activity aimed to provide a clearer overview of the pollution situation in the area by identifying the main types of litter, understanding their possible sources, and assessing their impact on the coastal and marine environment. It also served to promote awareness on the importance of reducing plastic waste and protecting natural ecosystems.

🔎 Key findings from the monitoring activity:
🧾 511 litter items collected per 100 meters
⚖️ 30.535 kg of waste collected in total
♻️ 12.455 kg of plastic items
🗑️ 18.08 kg of other waste

This activity is implemented within the framework of the project, funded by the European Union in Albania and implemented by milieukontaktalbania, a member of the Milieukontakt International Network, and etmi_albania.

On 22 May, a monitoring activity was carried out at Lalëz Beach within the framework of the project.

📍The selected monitoring site was located along the Lalëz coastline, an area known for its natural and recreational value, but increasingly exposed to pressures from human activities and plastic pollution.

🌊During the activity, the presence, types and quantities of litter were observed and monitored according to the standardized beach litter monitoring protocol.

Më 29 Prill 2026, H2H Foundation, në bashkëpunim me ArtKontakt dhe North Green Association, zhvilluan një aktivitet monitorimi në kuadër të projektit “Active Water II”.

🧪 Gjatë aktivitetit u krye monitorimi i parametrave fiziko-kimikë të ujit në terren, si edhe analizat bakteriologjike, me qëllim vlerësimin e cilësisë së burimeve ujore dhe evidentimin e sfidave mjedisore në zonat e monitoruara.

📍 Vendndodhjet e monitorimit:
• Hidrovori Hamallaj dhe derdhja në Detin Adriatik – një pikë kyçe për shkarkimin e ujërave, me ndikim të drejtpërdrejtë në ekosistemin detar dhe cilësinë e ujërave bregdetare.
• Rezervuari Rubjekë – një trup ujor i përdorur nga komuniteti për aktivitete rekreative dhe kultivimin e peshkut, që kërkon monitorim të vazhdueshëm për ruajtjen e cilësisë së ujit.

🌍 Ky aktivitet përfaqëson një hap të rëndësishëm drejt forcimit të bashkëpunimit ndërmjet organizatave dhe institucioneve kërkimore për mbrojtjen e mjedisit dhe burimeve ujore.

🌊 Monitoring activity 🌊

On April 29, 2026, H2H Foundation, in collaboration with ArtKontakt and North Green Association, carried out a monitoring activity within the framework of the “Active Water II” project.

🧪 The activity focused on on-site monitoring of physico-chemical water parameters, as well as bacteriological analyses, in order to assess water quality and identify environmental challenges in the monitored areas.

📍 Monitoring locations:
• Hamallaj pumping station and discharge into the Adriatic Sea – a key point for water outflow, directly impacting the marine ecosystem and coastal water quality.
• Rubjeka Reservoir – a water body used by the local community for recreational activities and fish farming, requiring continuous monitoring to ensure water quality.

This activity was carried out under the project “Support to Civil Society Organizations 2024–2027”, funded by the Swedish Government through Sida, and implemented by Co-PLAN Institute for Habitat Development, in cooperation with VIS Albania and COSV.

Më 27 Prill 2026, H2H Foundation, në bashkëpunim me ArtKontakt dhe North Green Association, zhvilluan një aktivitet monitorimi në kuadër të projektit “Active Water II”.

🧪 Gjatë aktivitetit u krye monitorimi i parametrave fiziko-kimikë të ujit në terren, si edhe analizat bakteriologjike, me qëllim vlerësimin e cilësisë së burimeve ujore dhe evidentimin e sfidave mjedisore në zonat e monitoruara.

📍 Vendndodhjet e monitorimit:
• Liqeni Funar 2 – një burim i rëndësishëm ujor që përdoret për ujitje dhe aktivitete rekreative nga komuniteti lokal.
• Liqeni i Treganit – një rezervuar me rëndësi për ujitje, i cili përballet me problematika të ndotjes dhe kërkon vëmendje të shtuar për rehabilitim dhe menaxhim të qëndrueshëm.

🌍 Ky aktivitet përfaqëson një hap të rëndësishëm drejt forcimit të bashkëpunimit ndërmjet organizatave dhe institucioneve kërkimore për mbrojtjen e mjedisit dhe burimeve ujore.

On April 27, 2026, H2H Foundation, in collaboration with ArtKontakt and North Green Association, carried out a monitoring activity within the framework of the “Active Water II” project.

• Funar Lake 2 – an important water resource used for irrigation and recreational activities by the local community.
• Tregan Lake – a reservoir important for irrigation, currently facing pollution-related challenges and requiring increased attention for rehabilitation and sustainable management.

🌍 This activity represents an important step toward strengthening cooperation among organizations and research institutions for the protection of the environment and water resources.
