NATO Role 3 Multinational Medical Unit

The NATO Role III MMU was established in 2005 as part of an ISAF mission; originally supported by the UK, Netherlands, Denmark, Australia and the USA with Canada as lead nation. In OCT 2009, the Canadians turned over a mission-ready facility to the US Navy. On 23MAY2010, the original Role closed its doors and in its place, a 70,000 sq.ft. rocket-resistant, high-tech hospital was erected only a few feet away.
