DAFA Humanitarian Mine Action in Paktya – with OCHA–AHF Funding Support

With the generous support of OCHA–AHF, under the project “Explosive Ordnance (EO) Clearance and Provision of Risk Education in Paktya and Khost” – CBPF-AFG-25-R-NGO-35092, DAFA teams have been working tirelessly since 5 June 2025 in Bayankhel and Gulghunday villages of Ali Khail (Jaji) District, Paktya Province.

✅ Cleared 92,814 m² of land contaminated by explosive hazards
✅ Safely destroyed 233 anti-personnel mines and 399 UXOs
✅ Delivered 157 EORE sessions, raising awareness among 3,356 community members – men, women, boys, and girls.

Every mine cleared and every family trained brings communities one step closer to safety, dignity, and a future free from explosive threats.

On September 1–2, 2025, personnel from the DAFA UNOPS project provided comprehensive assistance to the earthquake-affected residents of Mazar Dara, Nurgal District, Kunar Province in the spirit of Islamic and humanitarian solidarity.

Their support included:
- Evacuation of the martyrs and injured,
- Medical assistance to the wounded,
- Delivery of food supplies,
- Retrieval of the martyrs from the rubble and their burial.

DAFA will continue its humanitarian support and assistance to the earthquake-affected communities in Kunar Province.
