Girls Can Inspire Group is a voluntary group which was established in December 2016 with purpose of supporting Afghan women to become economically independent. The group’s main objectives are included but not limited to activities to enhance women owned SMES presence in business market, improve their business knowledge and skills and also provide job opportunities. In line to those objectives we a
re determine to accelerate business women presences in business market in order to have an effective role on economic development of the country. A large number of girls and boys graduated from university whom need to be employed and enter to labor market. In Afghanistan government alone is not be able to create job opportunities without support of privates sectors. In another side a large number of girls who graduated from business schools are interested to start their own businesses but need an inspiration. We believe our inspiring sessions such as Business Start-up sessions and Entrepreneurship Skills classes help them to practically apply their business idea in the market. Considering current economic situation of the country and dependency of the country to the international donors we believe support of women entrepreneurs could play a vital role in improving the country economic situation. It was found by well developed countries that WSMEs businesses created more job opportunities and had a significant role in the country economy. International research organisations confirms that better employment opportunities for women increase profitability and productivity in the private sectors. This group believes that main reasons behind violence against women are because they economically dependent to male member of their family and the whole society. We believe educating women and improving their knowledge to have a source of income help them not be victim of violence. Main objectives of this group is enabling women to generate income through establishing and growing their own businesses. Overall Girls Can Inspire group programs goals are to generate ideas, practice it in the market and create job opportunities.
