The Ka’bah Kiswah is raised and Ihram added in preparation for Hajj 1447 H.
Why is the Kiswah of the Ka’bah raised?
1) To protect and maintain its cleanliness and safety, and prevent pilgrims from tampering with it.
2) Some damage is caused to the Kiswah due to tear caused by the Tawafeen (pilgrims who perform tawaf).
3) To prevent pilgrims from believing in special blessing of the Kiswah.
