Considering the impact of four decades of war, complex and protracted conflict, demographic shifts, limited job opportunities, pervasive gender inequalities, food insecurity, COVID 19 pandemic, climate change and natural disasters in Afghanistan, TOA founder and board of directors took this initiative to establish the TOA with the aims to take part in the development and civilization of Afghanistan and safe life of Afghans and empower Afghan women whom have been affected and are victims of war to get their rights and be a part of social, and economic development through close coordination and assistance of international donors, UN compound, Afghanistan government institutions and as well as TOA is deeply committed to attaining the SDGs 2030 which were adopted by the world leaders at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit on 25 September 2015. TOA ensures transparency and accountability in its all activities that it undertakes, the fund it receives from donors and UN agencies, and the marginalized people it helps. TOA makes the information related to its working and activities accessible and available to all relevant stakeholders. TOA has a set of policies which ensure the smooth operations of the departments and enhanced partnership with project partners and other organizations as well as responsible toward its beneficiaries which ensures how funds and resources are used and what impacts has been yielded through the interventions. Our long-term development strategy focuses on four program areas - humanitarian/emergency assistance, income generation, agriculture and livestock - while weaving in other programs that help provide social services, protect natural resources and support children. TOA’s approach is to place communities at the center of its development activities. We work with other local non-governmental organizations and governments in Afghanistan and are deeply respectful of communities’ capabilities.
