UPDATE!
Cisco is updating the CCNA exam from v1.1 to v2.0 and the changes are worth paying attention to.
I went through both blueprints and a few things stood out right away. The new version brings in topics like Agentic AI, OSPFv3, DNS, and more advanced troubleshooting, a clear sign that the industry is moving fast and the certification is trying to keep up.
Here's how the domains are shifting:
π CCNA v1.1 (Current)
β’ Network Fundamentals β 20%
β’ Network Access β 20%
β’ IP Connectivity β 25%
β’ IP Services β 10%
β’ Security Fundamentals β 15%
β’ Automation & Programmability β 10%
π CCNA v2.0 (Upcoming)
β’ Network Infrastructure & Connectivity β 25%
β’ Switching & Network Access β 25%
β’ IP Routing β 20%
β’ Network Services & Security β 20%
β’ AI & Network Operations β 10%
The rename of "Automation & Programmability" to "AI & Network Operations" says a lot about where things are headed. It's not just about scripting anymore β understanding AI-driven networking is becoming a baseline expectation.
If you're currently studying for the CCNA or planning to start, it's worth checking which version you'll be sitting.
