UPDATE!

Cisco is updating the CCNA exam from v1.1 to v2.0 and the changes are worth paying attention to.

I went through both blueprints and a few things stood out right away. The new version brings in topics like Agentic AI, OSPFv3, DNS, and more advanced troubleshooting, a clear sign that the industry is moving fast and the certification is trying to keep up.

Here's how the domains are shifting:

📘 CCNA v1.1 (Current)

• Network Fundamentals — 20%

• Network Access — 20%

• IP Connectivity — 25%

• IP Services — 10%

• Security Fundamentals — 15%

• Automation & Programmability — 10%

📗 CCNA v2.0 (Upcoming)

• Network Infrastructure & Connectivity — 25%

• Switching & Network Access — 25%

• IP Routing — 20%

• Network Services & Security — 20%

• AI & Network Operations — 10%

The rename of "Automation & Programmability" to "AI & Network Operations" says a lot about where things are headed. It's not just about scripting anymore — understanding AI-driven networking is becoming a baseline expectation.

If you're currently studying for the CCNA or planning to start, it's worth checking which version you'll be sitting.
