Homecoming is a drama short film about a young woman named Rosa, who after years of resisting to return home finds herself craving for her happy place – home.
This humble student film will always be special for me for three reasons.
First, it was shot and produced during very challenging times amidst the peak Covid lockdown and protocols. To have accomplished what we did with a bare minimum crew, micro-budget, and basic equipment has been a huge learning experience and I can’t thank my cast, crew, and faculty enough to have supported me in every way to make this film possible.
Second, this story is very close to my heart mostly because I relate to that yearning for home - my small-town life that I left almost two decades ago.
Lastly, this is my first ever fiction project. Coming from a non-fiction background, I was never comfortable going beyond reality shows and lifestyle content, but with this short film, I was able to come out of my comfort zone.
