Once in a Life Time

The Vakil Mosque, in the city of Shiraz, southern Iran, was built in 1773 as per request of Karim Khan, the founder of Zand Dynasty. Vakil means 'regent', and one of the most peculiar charecteristics of this construction is the fact that it only has two 'iwans' instead of the usual four. The iwans are decorated with typical haft rangi tiles, with impressive floral design. Enjoy the views of the front door ceiling and share the post if you like it!

Palouse, region of the Northwestern United States, brings us this refreshing and calm landscape. One of the theories about the origins of the name is the meaning in french of the close word Pelouse: "short and thick grass". In any case, what a great sensation to lay down and look to the sky from this hill!!!!

What a ´WOW´landscape again!!!!!!! The stone forest Tsingy de Bemaraha is located in the western coast of Madagascar and it is the biggest on earth (666 square kilometers!). It is a Unesco World Heritage Site, and beneath the apparent austerity of the stones, there is an extraordinary world of forest canyons and humid caves inhabited by fundamentally wild birds and lemur populations. To celebrate it, have a look to this stunning building in Yemen, the Dar Al-Hajar, also called the palace of the Rock. The date of foundation is unknown but it's believed to be built on a rock in 1786 and finally in 1930 Imam Yahya Hameed Al-Din added the upper storeys and annexes and used it as a rest houses. Today it's one of the symbols of Yemen. Like and share the uniqueness of this place :))))

The Thousand Islands, in Ontario, Canada. Exactly 1864 islands, different sizes, from uninhabited ones, to small ones occupied by a single residence, to 100 square meters as the biggest ones. I am amazed by the beauty of our planet!!! Click ´I like´ if you do too!

Montserrat is a multi-peaked mountain located near Barcelona, Spain. It is famous as the site of the Benedictine Abbey and hosts the Virgin of Montserrat sanctuary. "Montserrat" literally means "jagged mountain" in Catalan (language spoken in Catalonia) and describes its peculiar aspect with multitude of rocks visible from a great distance, even from the coast.
