Urgent and Special Airlift Mission

Procharter recently successfully completed an urgent and special airlift mission of 260T of temperature-controlled cargo between the UAE and Mombasa, Kenya. The complex door-to-door operation demanded careful pre-planning and fully customized operational and logistics support at the origin and destination airports.

An added challenge was the need to navigate the restrictions imposed by the Eid holidays.

• Procharter staff deployed to Mombasa to co-ordinate the aircraft operations, customs, trucking, and other local procedures

Madaraka Day is a national holiday in Kenya celebrated every 1 June. It commemorates the day in 1963 when Kenya attained internal self-rule (self-governance) from British colonial administration, marking a major step toward full independence.

The word “Madaraka” is a Swahili term meaning “authority,” “power,” or “self-governance.”

• On 1 June 1963, Kenya gained internal self-government.
• Kenya achieved full independence on 12 December 1963 and became a republic on 12 December 1964.
• Madaraka Day honors the sacrifices of freedom fighters and leaders who contributed to the struggle against colonial rule.
