Not exactly the best news to start the weekend, especially with Ramadan starting, however I wanted to alert expats living in the UAE that an 'investment firm', 79th Group, is under investigation by the City of Police. The company is believed to have offered loan notes promising fixed high returns—12% for a £10,000 minimum investment and 15% for £25,000—via third-party introducers, apparently many of their victims are living in the UAE

So far, four people have been arrested, and have seized large sums of cash, luxury watches, and jewellery during searches of five properties. All arrested individuals are out on bail as investigations continue.
