The recent horrific vehicle attacks on crowds across the world showed how people in public spaces are vulnerable, which is why we are now leading the way by supplying a revolutionary new product that offers superb temporary protection for outdoor events.

Called the SecuriPod, the product is the result of intense R&D into finding a solution which not only keeps vehicles at bay but which also ensures that attending a public event continues to be a convenient and a pleasant experience.

Launched last year, the SecuriPod was designed to stop vehicles without resorting to laying out a row of heavy concrete blocks or stopping pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchair and mobility scooter users and families with pushchairs from gaining easy access to events such as street carnivals and winter festivals.

There is no doubt that litter bins make it easy for terrorists intent on killing people and causing damage to hide and then set off a bomb, which is why they were absent from railway stations and civic centres for many years.

Now, technology has caught up with the terrorists and litter bins that are capable of containing a blast from a bomb are being introduced onto the UK’s streets.

Our blast-resistant bins, which have undergone two years’ worth of testing at a Government-approved test centre.

The result is, we are pleased to say, that our blast-resistant litter bins have earned the maximum 10 star rating under the Home Office standard “determination of the explosive resistance of litter and recycling bins”, which is the only standard recommended by the UK Government and is supported by the CPNI.

From an avenue of trees, a break-out zone for shoppers who want to take the weight of their feet or racks offering cyclists somewhere to store their bikes, our street furniture range can be used to create all manner of aesthetic and practical installations.

However, it also has another function – security. Unlike the vast majority of bicycle racks, planters, seats and tree surrounds on the UK’s streets, our street furniture has been rigorously tested to PAS 68 standard to ensure that it can act as a security barrier in the event of a vehicle-borne attack, meaning that, in an instant, a product designed for sitting down can stand up to the monumental forces of a full-on collision without giving any ground whatsoever.

Used in isolation or in harmony with our PAS 68 security planters, our security street furniture can be used to construct a practical and attractive street scene which, using careful design, will give anyone intent of using a vehicle to cause harm or damage no gaps to exploit, keeping them safely at arms’ length.

And, as with all of our products, our security street furniture can be installed quickly and easily by our trained fitters using surface-mounted pins that are just as straightforward to remove as well.
