From the 1973 film - sung by my forever icon 🤩 Happy birthday for yesterday! Whenever I’m asked in any interview, I always answer that you were my greatest inspiration. Your voice, music and films always bring me home to my calling of writing and performing music. I stopped singing altogether at the start of my career…but listening to you was and is my medicine. Your artistry, poetic pause, grace and unforgettable voice are everything to me. You are so beautiful inside and out! Thank you for being you, and fighting for what is right your entire life.

Know this is such a serious performance…but I’ve had so much on my mind lately. In my heart of hearts it resonates so deep with what’s going on in the world today. I just feel so much of the struggle of getting through each day, not just me, but everyone. It has to improve, we have to be better. Better in kindness, better in love and better in loyalty. You know, it is okay to be different, right? I just pray we learn to how embrace each other without judgement. If someone or a belief or path is not for you, that’s okay and you have a right to choose your own…but what’s not okay is tearing each other down just because we cannot accept the other. If only we could just take a deep breath and reason it over. Nobody wins in war, aggression, vengeance and malice; no one. So will we…can we stop being at war with each other?

I hope the next set of light the corners of our world…because we sure need it right now 🌍❤️‍🩹
