💻 How one forgotten server caused a data leak
Hackers from the ShinyHunters group gained access to an outdated cloud system of a third-party provider of Checkout.com. The system had not been used for a long time, but important documentation remained inside. Having active access to this abandoned system allowed the attackers to get inside and affect part of the client base.
⚠️ This case once again highlights the main risk of centralized clouds: one forgotten server becomes an entry point for an attack.
💭 With DexCloud, this scenario is impossible thanks to its decentralized architecture.
Data is not stored on a single node: each file is split into parts, encrypted, and distributed across independent nodes. Even if one node is compromised, the attacker gets only a meaningless fragment — not your data. 😉
See for yourself: activate the free trial and get 20 GB of protected storage for 30 days. After that, simply choose the right plan.
