At MALT Congress, one truth kept surfacing: today's high-value traveller doesn't want more. They want what's right for them.

Not extravagance. Not excess. Space. Results.
Experiences that feel crafted just for them.

The new currency of luxury isn't the spa menu or the equipment list. It's the feeling of being seen, understood, and held.

Last week I had the privilege of speaking at the World Spa & Wellness Summit in Dubai, hosted by the Professional Beauty Group.

Our discussion on the Future of the Spa Director in 2030 was not only energizing—it was a clear reminder of how far our industry has evolved since COVID reshaped the global wellness landscape.

What struck me most was how advanced today’s Spa Directors truly are.

The role has matured into a blend of strategist, wellness advocate, financial leader, and culture‑builder.

We’re seeing Directors who are:
- Financially fluent, confidently driving revenue, forecasting, and ROI with the same precision as any hospitality executive.
- AI‑literate, integrating technology to enhance efficiency while fiercely protecting the human touch that defines our industry.
- Deeply connected to wellness and longevity, understanding that guests now seek outcomes, not just experiences.

The conversation was a powerful reminder that the Spa Director of the future is not just managing operations—they’re shaping the next chapter of global wellness.

I left the summit inspired by the intelligence, resilience, and vision of the leaders in our field.

If this is where we are today, 2030 looks incredibly promising.
