TRANSGRESSIONS PART 2
Tuesday 14 July 2026
"Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour"π€
Our snippet of the Word of God *as we seek to share more insights on "transgressions"* is from Romans 4:15.
*Law brings wrath and where there is no law there is no transgression.*βοΈβοΈβοΈ
~To transgress is *to overstep a clearly defined line.*βοΈ
~Paul plays around the fact that the law exposes wrongdoing; and says if there is no such exposure of sin the world appears like there is no transgression.
~Indeed, if there are no boundaries or limitations with everyone doing as he or she pleases *(in the tune of Judges 21:25)* the level of confusion may be beyond measure but no-one will be quick to tell it.π€
~In making this submission the writer is presupposing that the presence of the law makes it easier for people to know where they are doing well and where they are not doing well.
~Since the word of God is our law the same statement may be: *"If we know the word of God and choose to live like we know nothing about it we may anger the Lord."*
~Wisdom demands that we use our understanding of the word of God, which is the living law, to avoid transgressing before the Lord.π―
Our Prayer Points for the day include our quest for a church stand, our parents and elderly people in our midst, family unity, and the RCZ Greendale Congregational Projects. *Enjoy your Day!*ππ½

TRANSGRESSIONS PART 1
Monday 13 July 2026
"Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."π€
Our Bible reading *as we commence our discussions on "transgressions"* is from Micah 7:18.
*"Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.*βοΈβοΈβοΈ
~The book of the prophet Micah sends *a strong message about God's incomparability.*βοΈ
~This message evolves from the meaning of Micah's name which, literally, presents the question: *"Who is like the Lord?"*
~There is virtually no other god that can be compared to the Lord, the God of Israel.
~Our chosen text highlights *a rhetoric question uttered by Micah.*
~In trying to express his assertion that no-one can pardon sin and forgive transgressions of God's people if God does not do it Micah says; *"Who is like you?"*π€
~Micah's personal understanding as a transgressor and of God as a forgiver of transgressions helped him in relating with the forgiver of his sins.
~Likewise, if we understand ourselves as transgressors and God as a forgiver of our transgressions we will surely *develop a better understanding of the role played by Christ on the cross.*
~We are, therefore, encouraged to accept that we certainly cannot compare God with anyone in matters related to the forgiveness of our sins.π―
Our Prayer Points for today include the quest for a Congregational Stand, fruitful family altars, national peace and harmony, as well as the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe and its Departments. *Enjoy your Week!*ππ½

REMOVE YOUR BURDENS (SHOES)TO RECEIVE GODβS INSTRUCTIONS
Exodus 3:1β15 β Background, Lessons and Devotional Significance
Background of the Passage
Exodus 3:1β15 records one of the most significant encounters in the BibleβMoses and the Burning Bush. At this point, Moses had spent about forty years in Midian after fleeing Egypt for killing an Egyptian. Once a prince in Pharaoh's palace, he was now a humble shepherd tending the flocks of his father-in-law, Jethro.
While shepherding near Mount Horeb (Mount Sinai), Moses saw a bush that was burning but was not consumed. God called him from the bush, revealed His holiness, and commissioned him to return to Egypt to deliver the Israelites from slavery. God identified Himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and revealed His covenant name, βI AM WHO I AMβ (YHWH).
This passage serves as the turning point in Moses' life and marks the beginning of Israel's journey from bo***ge to freedom.
Key Lessons from Exodus 3:1β15
1. God Often Meets Us in Ordinary Places
Moses was performing the routine task of shepherding when God appeared to him.
Lesson: Divine encounters frequently occur during ordinary daily activities rather than extraordinary circumstances.
"Now Moses was tending the flock..." (v.1)
Application:
β’ Be faithful in your daily responsibilities.
β’ God can use ordinary moments for extraordinary purposes.
2. God Calls Those Who Feel Unqualified
Moses questioned his suitability:
"Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh?" (v.11)
Moses focused on his inadequacies, but God focused on His presence.
"I will be with you." (v.12)
Application:
β’ God does not call the qualified; He qualifies the called.
β’ Success in ministry and leadership depends more on God's presence than human ability.
3. God Is Holy
Before speaking with Moses, God commanded:
"Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground." (v.5)
This teaches reverence and worship.
Application:
β’ Approach God with humility and respect.
β’ Worship should never become casual or superficial.
4. God Sees Human Suffering
God declared:
"I have indeed seen the misery of my people... I have heard them crying out." (v.7)
God was not indifferent to Israel's oppression.
Application:
β’ God sees our pain, struggles and tears.
β’ Delayed answers do not mean divine neglect.
5. God Is a Deliverer
God's purpose was not merely to comfort Israel but to deliver them.
"I have come down to rescue them." (v.8)
Application:
β’ God specialises in bringing people out of bo***ge, fear, addiction, sin and despair.
β’ No situation is beyond God's power.
6. God's Presence Is Greater Than Any Challenge
Moses was afraid of Pharaoh and the task ahead.
God's answer was simple:
"I will be with you."
Application:
β’ God's presence is the believer's greatest resource.
β’ Difficult assignments become possible when God accompanies us.
7. God Is Eternal and Self-Existent
God revealed Himself as:
"I AM WHO I AM." (v.14)
Unlike humans, God depends on no one for His existence.
This name reveals that God:
β’ Never changes.
β’ Never fails.
β’ Never ceases to be God.
β’ Is eternally present.
Application:
β’ Our security rests in an unchanging God.
β’ God's promises remain reliable in every generation.
Devotional Significance
1. The Burning Bush Symbolises God's Presence
The bush burned yet was not consumed.
Spiritually, this reminds believers that:
β’ God's presence sustains His people.
β’ Believers may face trials but are not destroyed.
β’ The Church may face opposition yet continues because God is in its midst.
2. God Knows Your Name
God called:
"Moses! Moses!"
This was a personal call.
Devotional Thought:
β’ God does not relate to us merely as a crowd.
β’ He knows us individually and intimately.
3. Holy Ground Can Be Anywhere
The wilderness became holy because God was there.
Devotional Application:
β’ Our workplaces, homes, farms, offices and churches become places of worship when we encounter God there.
β’ We do not need a special location to experience God's presence.
4. God's Call Is Linked to God's Mission
God called Moses not merely to bless him but to use him.
Devotional Challenge:
β’ Every believer has a kingdom purpose.
β’ Faith is not only about receiving from God but participating in His work.
5. God's Answer to Fear Is His Presence
Moses' first concern was "Who am I?"
God redirected him from self-focus to God-focus.
Devotional Reflection:
β’ When we concentrate on our weaknesses, we become discouraged.
β’ When we focus on God's presence, we gain courage.
Conclusion
When Moses met God at the burning bush, everything changed. God still calls ordinary people, still sees human suffering, still promises His presence, and still reveals Himself as the Great I AM. Our confidence for life's journey comes not from who we are, but from who God is.
Amen
RCZ GREENDALE STAND PRAYER WEEK PART 6
Saturday 11 July 2026
"Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father"π€
As we come to the end of this week, and *as we come to the end of our discussions on *the need to pray for a church stand* our Bible Reading is from Esther 4:12 - 5:2.
*"When Esther's words were reported to Mordecai, he sent back his answer:........ For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place...... Then Esther sent his reply to Mordecai....... So Mordecai went away and carried out all of Esther's instructions. On the third day Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court...... When the king saw Queen Esther...he was pleased with her.....*βοΈβοΈβοΈ
~At times God's people find themselves *compelled to undertake difficult missions.*βοΈ
~When Haman's plot to assassinate Mordecai and to destroy the entire Jewish community in the Persian empire was already in full swing *Esther was compelled to do the unusual and face King Ahashverosh.*
~The process involved prayerful encounters for all Jews.
~We have chosen to end our *"RCZ GREENDALE STAND WEEK"* with a reference to this particular text for a reason.π€
~It is one such text that shows *the power of humility before the Lord and of earnest prayer.*
~It teaches that prayer makes the impossible very possible.
~We are *encouraged to face our dream with a deep-rooted sense of hope* arising from the fact that the Lord whom we engage in prayer is a God of tangible wonders.
~We should, therefore, *remain steadfast in prayer until we realize our dream;* believing and acknowledging that the Lord who brought us together can do it for us.π―
Today's other Prayer Points include marriages within our congregation, personal desires, and the Greendale RCZ Congregational growth. *Enjoy your weekend*ππ½

RCZ GREENDALE STAND PRAYER WEEK PART 5
Friday 10 July 2026
"Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour"π€
Our Bible reading *as we continue to share more insights on "the need to pray for our own church stand"* is from Ezra 4:1-5.
*"When the enemies of Judah and Benjamin heard that the exiles were building a temple for the Lord, the God of Israel,.........they came to Zerubbabel....and said; "Let us help you build........" But Zerubbabel...... answered; "You have no part with us in building a temple to our God.... Then the people around them set out to discourage the people of Judah..... They hired counselors to work against them and frustrate their plans....*βοΈβοΈβοΈ
~The exiles' quest to rebuild the Jerusalem temple under Zerubbabel was *a milestone achievement in biblical history.*βοΈ
~Ezra 1:1 indicates that the Lord had moved the heart of Cyrus, King of Persia, to make a proclamation permitting the people of Judah to rebuild the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem.
~Zerubbabel and his team capitalized on this divine favour and sought to rebuild the temple.
~Their encounters show that *whenever God's people seek to do good things for the Lord it does not mean that the desire will be supported by everyone* since the devil always crafts ways to disrupt, frustrate, or destroy such plans.π€
~Since the RCZ Greendale Congregation dream is that of securing a stand for the construction of a church and a parsonage greater chances are that the devil may seek to disrupt or delay the realization of this dream.
~*Our role during this "RCZ GREENDALE STAND WEEK"* is to *pray for divine knowledge* in matters to do with *whom to engage and whom to partner with in pursuit of our desire.*π―
Our other Prayer Points for today include orphans, family projects, and those of us who have lost relatives and friends during the week. *Enjoy your day*ππ½

RCZ GREENDALE STAND PRAYER WEEK PART 4
Thursday 9 July 2026
"Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord"π€
Our snippet of the Word of God *as we continue sharing perspectives on "the need for us to pray for our own church stand"* is from 2 Kings 4:1-7.
*The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, "Your servant my husband is dead..... But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as slaves." Elisha replied to her, "How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?" .................*βοΈβοΈβοΈ
~The widow in the text had nothing other than "a little oil."βοΈ
~In the face of her predicament *Elisha shifted the widow's attention towards what she had and helped her out using that which was in her hands.*
~If we are to judge this widow by ordinary day to day standards we will be quick to conclude that an appropriate response to the question on what she had was; *"I have nothing,* but she did not take that for an answer.π€
~She had a little oil and *the prophet immediately capitalized on what was available.*
~The deciding question on what is at hand may be asked to us this "RCZ GREENDALE STAND WEEK."
~We are, therefore, *urged to pray for the widow's wisdom in knowing what we already have that can be used in the fulfilment of our desire* to have a church stand.π―
Our other Prayer Points for today include Persons living with disabilities, matters to do with our children's education and employment, as well as Congregational Committees. *Have a pleasant day*ππ½

RCZ Greendale STAND PRAYER WEEK PART 3
Wednesday 8 July 2026
"Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father"π€
Our Bible Reading *as we continue to share insights on "the need to pray for a church stand"* is from 1 Samuel 1:9-17.
*"Once, when they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh Hannah stood up......In bitterness of soul Hannah wept much and prayed to the Lord.........Eli answered; "Go in peace and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him."*βοΈβοΈβοΈ
~With every trip to Shiloh *Hannah knew what she wanted from the Lord.*
~She was desperate to have a baby and was prepared to give the fruit of her womb to the Lord.βοΈ
~She, therefore, *poured her heart out in prayer* until the Priest joined in to say; "May the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him."
~What strikes our attention from today's reading is the fact that although Eli, the priest, did not hear Hannah's words in prayer *the amount of time that was spent in prayer assured him that she strongly yearned for that which she was asking of God.*π€
~How we yearn for a church stand can be seen in the amount of time we spend praying for the stand in question *during this "RCZ GREENDALE STAND WEEK"* and beyond.
~We are challenged to *adopt the Hannah Style of Worship* that is characterized by concerted humility, supplication and selfless surrender *until we are granted that which we are asking of God.*π―
Our other Prayer Points for today include the sick, widows and single parents, as well as Church Council Members and their families. *Enjoy Holy Spirit inspired encounters*ππ½

RCZ GREENDALE CONGREGATION STAND PRAYER WEEK PART 2
Tuesday 7 July 2026
"Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour"π€
Our snippet of the Word of God *as we seek to share more insights on "the need to pray for a church stand" during this year's "STAND WEEK"* is from Exodus 3:1-10.
*Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro.........There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames........The Lord said; "I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt"...........So I have come down to rescue them.....I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.*βοΈβοΈβοΈ
~This text presents *something very unique about God and how he operates.*βοΈ
~It does not make reference to the Israelites seeking the Lord by way of repenting from their sins in their moments of suffering in the hands of Pharaoh and all Egypt.
~The Israelites were simply living in misery and always crying at the hands of their slave masters.
~*God saw their misery and heard their cries before initiating the process to rescue them.*
~He is, indeed, a God who sees people in their misery and who hears their cries.π€
~This challenges us to *turn to God during this "RCZ GREENDALE STAND WEEK."*
~While we should thank the Lord for notable progress in our fundraising initiatives *we should equally pray for our desperate efforts in the search for a place of worship* that may be called in our name within our immediate vicinity.
~May all hands, offices, officials, and stakeholder representatives through whom our plea for land passes find it proper to support this noble cause.π―
Our other Prayer Points for the day include our parents and elderly people in our midst, family unity, and the RCZ Greendale Congregational Projects. *Enjoy your Day!*ππ½

RCZ GREENDALE STAND PRAYER WEEK PART 1
Monday 6 July 2026
"Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."π€
Our Bible reading *as we seek to declare this week as "THE RCZ GREENDALE STAND WEEK" and as we dedicate it to praying for a church stand* is from Genesis 24:10-14.
*"Then the servant took ten of his master's camels and departed, taking all sorts of choice gifts from his master, and he arose and went to Mesopotamia....................... And he said; ........ please grant me success today............ Let the young woman to whom I shall say, "Please let down your jar that I may drink," and who shall say, "Drink, and I will water your camels" let her be the one whom you have appointed for your servant Isaac.*βοΈβοΈβοΈ
~This week that ends on Saturday 11 July is *a special week in the history of the RCZ Greendale Congregation.*
~We have realized that we have done well in almost everything since our subdivision as a congregation.
~We *have increased in numbers and our giving is unimaginable:* GLORY BE TO GOD ALMIGHTY!!!βοΈ
~We, however, openly admit that one thing remains grey and unhidden on our part: *"We neither have a church building nor do we have a parsonage."*
~Our Bible reading from Genesis 24:10-14 shows that the main character in the text, who is Abraham's servant, is on a mission to find a wife for Isaac.π€
~He *has camels and all sorts of choice gifts which could attract any young woman* and her family into a marriage arrangement but *chose not to rely on these material items.*
~The servant has faith in the Lord and prays for God's guidance.
~As we desperately yearn for a stand on which to build a church and to build a parsonage, like the servant on a mission to find a wife for his master's son, our chosen text *teaches that the fulfilment of our dreams rests not in what is in our hands but in our faith in the Lord.*
~We are *called upon to pray for the desire for a stand at home* in equally the same way as we should pray for it during our worship services. *WHILE WE RECOGNIZE OUR EFFORTS TO THIS DAY HATIDI KUTENDERERA NGUVA REFU PASHOKO ROKUVA NEPEDU; MUZITA RAJESU!*π―
Our other Prayer Points for today include fruitful family altars, national peace and harmony, as well as the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe and its Departments. *Enjoy your Week!*ππ½

ANGER PART 6
Saturday 4 July 2026
"Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father"π€
As we come to the end of this week, and *as we come to the end of our discussions on *anger* our Bible Reading is from Proverbs 29:11.
*"A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control.*βοΈβοΈβοΈ
~In this instance, the term *vent* relates to a passage from confinement.βοΈ
~When anger is allowed to explode uncontrollably the immediate results may be highly regrettable.
~On the one hand, *the chosen Proverb highlights that it is foolish for one to allow his or her anger to explode to uncontrollable proportions.*π€
~On the other hand, wisdom requires that one keeps his or her anger under control.
~This reading is important in that *it is not claiming that christians are immune to anger but it encourages us to reign our anger as and when we find ourselves angry.*
~This encouragement comes to us at a time when we should admit that not all christians are wise: the wise are seen by their *ability to keep their anger under control* while the foolish are exposed by it.π―
Today's Prayer Points include marriages within our congregation, personal desires, and the Greendale RCZ Congregational growth. *Enjoy your weekend*ππ½
