Chambishi Farmers Cry Out for Inclusive Compensation After Sino Metal Pollution
Residents of Chambishi area in Kalulushi District have spoken out, saying they are still waiting to benefit from compensation and relief support following the 2025 Sino Metal pollution incident.
The pollution, which happened over a year ago, reportedly affected farming fields, water sources and land, leaving many farmers struggling to recover.
Some affected residents claim that only a small number of people have received assistance since the disaster.
The farmers say the identification process mainly focused on residents from Kalusale, while other people with gardens and farmland in the polluted area but living elsewhere were left out.
They are now calling for an inclusive compensation and support process to ensure every affected victim benefits from the aid being provided.
