The legal battle over the burial of former President Edgar Lungu remains ongoing after the South African Supreme Court of Appeal reserved judgment to a later date following submissions from both parties.

During today’s proceedings, lawyers representing the Zambian government and the Lungu family presented their arguments before the court adjourned the matter.

The Supreme Court of Appeal said the matter will be handled urgently, noting that it is nearly one year since the death of Zambia’s former President.

The court stated that both parties will be notified once judgment is ready.
