A meeting was convened at the Tarr residence in Linbro Park on the 29th of January 1994. Many names were considered for this new Federation club but generally the name PHOENIX found most favour, largely because the founder members viewed the formation of Phoenix as a rebirth of sorts - a resurrection of mutual interest.
