Over the past year, I’ve been drawn back to creating these small faces. While I still create larger pieces, there’s something uniquely beautiful about these characters. Each face seems to capture a part of me, maybe even something subconscious. The natural lines and patterns in the wood feel like they guide me, shaping the character and emotion in each piece. It’s as if the wood itself speaks, telling me who it wants to become.

This is an older sculpture which I made almost a year ago. Each work comes out very differently, as I work with the flow of the wood and the raw matter itself. I try to embrace the beauty of how the branch or stump is already shaped and then go from there. Throughout the many works I have made within all the years of being an artist, I have never come across a work of mine that is an exact copy of another. They are unique in every possible aspect. They might be similar, yet entirely their own entity.
