Lungista Haai, from Siphekela Isizwe Empowerment, runs community kitchens
and distributes food in several large communities. Her program forms part of The Kolisi Foundation's food security and Gender based violence efforts.

One of these community kitchens is in the Joe Slovo and Phoenix Community where Lungi actively serves the elderly and children.

Because elders took care of her growing up, she gives back to her community by running a seniors group.

The RES HEALTHCARE LTD and Med-e-Screen team conducted medical assessments for the seniors of the Joe Slovo and Phoenix community this week!

As part of the engagements the seniors were asked whether they have experienced gender based violence and were given practical and emotional support.

Lungi and her team also provided the participants with a delicious meal while the tests took place.

At the start of December, the hall at Renew Church in Fourways was filled with hope and determination as Dr Taz Emeran-Thomas and Dr. Joy Saville provided free health screenings to unhoused individuals; ultimately restoring their dignity and giving them a compassionate ear to listen.

Each person waiting to be screened represents a life touched by unconditional love and care—all made possible through sponsored screenings.
