Civil Draughtsman

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Draughtsman to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with civil engineers and technologists to develop accurate, compliant, and practical designs for infrastructure and structural projects that meet specific site and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities
• Liaise with engineers and project managers to gather site data, survey information, and structural design requirements.
• Calculate dimensions, gradients, and material specifications for civil works, including earthworks, roads, pump lines, and drainage systems.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (or Advance Steel) to produce high-quality technical drawings.
• Design site layouts, longitudinal sections, and detailed cross-sections for infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review rough sketches and preliminary designs in collaboration with the engineering team.
• Identify potential site constraints or design issues and implement practical, code-compliant improvements.
• Ensure all final designs comply with relevant SANS regulations, Mine and municipal standards, and quality requirements.
• Develop technical documentation describing project specifications, material quantities, and construction sequences.
• Document design iterations step-by-step, including any specialized software parameters used for modelling.

Requirements
• Proven experience as a draughtsman within the civil engineering or construction sector.
• High proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong understanding of technical drawings, civil materials, and structural principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills regarding site-specific challenges.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills for managing project revisions.
