My Shack

Today marks 5 years since the release of My Shack on 21 May 2021.

As I stand on the edge of turning 50, I realise I am still learning. Still learning how to walk in wholeness, in grace and in truth. The journey has not been perfect, but it has been real.

And if there is one thing I know for certain, it is this: I have no regrets about sharing my story. Vulnerability opened doors to healing, connection, and freedom I never imagined possible.

Five years later, I remain deeply grateful for every lesson, every person touched and every step that brought me here.

Meeting Archbishop Thabo Makgoba 💜

I had the honour of meeting and spending some truly precious moments with The Most Reverend Dr Thabo Makgoba, Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town. A man of deep humility, wisdom and compassion, he spoke with such grace and moral clarity — a true example of inspirational leadership.

He was genuinely delighted to receive a copy of my book. In a deeply moving moment, he also said sorry for what I had experienced — a powerful gesture of empathy and humanity that I will not forget.

It was a privilege to share space with someone so committed to justice, truth and healing.
