As soon as they had eaten, they all split off in different directions to help keep a look out for the arrival of other predators

Not always something you want to see while walking through heavy bush! The Cape buffalo is without a doubt one of the most dangerous animals in Africa, and is sometimes referred to as ‘widowmaker’ or ‘the black death’. These aggressive and unpredictable beasts can weigh up to 1,000 kgs and grow up to 1.7 meters tall. They are one of the few animals in Africa that will actively stalk and kill humans if alone. Buffalos kill an estimated 200 people each year.
