It’s a Christmas miracle…..
My 14 almost 15 year old let my husband take a picture of us together ON CHRISTMAS. Anyone who has had a teenager knows what a big deal this is.
It’s been a hell of a year. I’m not going to lie….between the cancer diagnosis in 2024 (Thanksgiving) and the fight of my life over 2025 I am not unhappy seeing 2025 in my soon to be rear view mirror.
With this fourth surgery I’m finally feeling a bit more myself but radiation was no joke and I’m still trying to get stronger. That’s the goal for 2026 get stronger!
I’m so lucky to still be in business as a photographer and I’m thrilled to be booking through spring. I’m coming for you New Orleans after Mardi Gras.
May the end of your year be peaceful and full of joy……
I’m going to take a nap and then get to setting my studio up and taking some pictures. Till then all my love from me and my crazy kid and husband.

Fletch and I spent the afternoon at HarBQ watching pastrami smoke and I’m not going to lie it made me hungry!
So hungry I might have to get that whole smoked brisket they are offering for Thanksgiving!!!!! Imagine not having to do the turkey right?
The ribs I ended up picking were to die for……can’t wait for the pastrami we shot to land at Lottie and Zulas!

So because I will be in surgery on my birthday (Feb 6th) 🥴 I’m celebrating tomorrow and asked for a traditional Swedish Prinsesstårta cake (Princess cake).
I’m obsessed with these gorgeously green cakes filled with cream and raspberry and covered in marzipan. I was lucky enough that from had the killer skills to make this beauty.
It’s so lovely and makes me to happy just to see it. The pink roses are just perfect and it feels so festive.
Have you tried one yet? I know for all the years we are here that I’ll be making this a sweet tradition.
Thanks Talon & Broder for bringing a little taste of my grandparents to my day.
Oh and thanks to for the matching cake stand 😂

My friend, collaborator and partner of many years Charlie Deaux passed away in Miami, suddenly on December 10th from Legionnaires Disease. It was a shock to those of us who knew him and loved him.
Charlie was a complicated and wildly talented man. A visionary, with a gift for storytelling and visuals that were simply otherworldly. He also possessed a streak of hard headedness that was legend.
He did life his way.
In the almost 30 years we knew each other our path was never linear, never easy but he was one of my best friends, greatest cheerleaders and gave me the most beautiful gift in the world.
Rest easy Charlie….
May you now find the peace that so eluded you in this life. I’d want that for you so very much.

Between the bones there is a sliver of light.
Some call it hope.
I’m not so sure.
My eyes are weary…I thought I knew my way by heart but with each step I find the memory slipping away.
I’m lost, untethered the horizon eludes me.
I’ve always known the way. I’ve always been able to dig deep and survive yet now this time it feels like a free fall.
There is a freedom in falling, releasing that grip and finally relenting but I’m not built that way.
I have never been built that way.
So as the winter approaches and the daylight dims I will once again dig deep and stay vigilant.
