Ali Mahdavi

As You Desire Me” is the first series that legitimized me as a fashion photographer. Until then, I was mainly known for my work as a visual artist.

The project was created for Citizen K. was the first to give me a chance trusting me based solely on the dolls. He had access to the best photographers in the world and the greatest supermodels, yet he placed me on the same level as them.

The series was produced by , who is also the model in the images, embodying the project with her striking beauty. The photographs were shot in a 10 Polaroid set, with set design by , who also assisted with the lighting—an approach that later became my signature, using a lamp I created myself.
