job, amazing boyfriend (now husband), beautiful garden, and plenty of free time to have fun, go to the beach, and spend time with family. I had a life-threatening reaction to an antibiotic and pain medication given to me for a UTI. I had to take an unpaid sabbatical from my job, visited every specialist under the sun, and got a long list of diagnoses, none of which were accurate. After two plus years of seeing specialist after specialist, I was told that my organs were failing, and that my body wasn’t responding to any treatments or medications. They told me at the rate I was going, I might only make it six more months. So, what did I do? Of course, I was devastated but was too sick to get emotional or fight. I accepted my fate and thought it was time to plan my funeral. I went to my local herb shop to get body building herbs so I could plump up to be more presentable when family and friends saw me for the last time. The most amazing thing happened. I lived! I’m still here. Through that journey, I learned the importance of nutrition, herbal supplements, and aromatherapy. I also learned that personal care and cleaning products were equally important to minimize the chemical exposure and stress it was placing on my already devasted body and mind. Our of this tragedy (or almost tragedy), JennScents was born. In my kitchen one day, surrounded by my husband, mom, and stepdad, we decided on my business name, and the rest is history. I found my true calling, passion, and gifts as an intuitive aromatherapy formulator. I have always loved helping people. Combining the two passions of helping others with aromatherapy was a natural fit. I started making aromatherapy products for myself, and soon for others who were watching me get better on my journey. When they had a health challenge, they asked me to make a blend. That grew into my Aromatherapy Custom Blending Bar where I make signature and custom blends. I also grew my JennScents business into offering health coaching practice, educator, author, and motivational speaker. My mission is to help people find holistic solutions no matter where they are in their health journey, so they have great quality of life. Having been the gamut of health struggles myself and learning how to regain my health, I am able to help others through my aromatic products and educational programs.
