It’s no longer news that reports and conversations about alleged maternity fraud have left many expectant parents feeling anxious. While most births happen safely every day, stories like these remind us why preparation matters.
Labour can be physically and emotionally exhausting. In those moments, your focus should be on delivering your baby, not trying to keep track of every detail around you. Having someone you trust by your side provides support, reassurance, and another set of eyes when you need it most.
When trusted people are informed, they’re more likely to notice if something doesn’t add up, such as unexplained changes, conflicting information, or unusual delays. They can ask questions, seek clarification, and advocate for you while you’re focused on giving birth.
You don’t have to carry that responsibility alone. Keeping your loved ones informed means there are people looking out for you and your baby every step of the way.
If you’re in labour and unable to ask these questions yourself, your husband, partner, or another trusted family member should feel confident asking on your behalf. Clear communication is a normal part of good healthcare, and no parent should feel uncomfortable seeking clarification.
Being informed isn’t being difficult, it’s being an advocate for yourself and your baby.
Trust God, because even when you’ve done everything right, life doesn’t always go as planned. Prayer doesn’t replace preparation, it goes hand in hand with it.
So pray, trust Him, and put wise safeguards in place before your due date. Faith and wisdom can walk together.

OfTheWeek MotherhoodJourney
💜Motherhood has a way of changing everything overnight.
In those early weeks, your body is recovering, your baby is adjusting, and your emotions can feel like they are moving in every direction at once.
💜If things feel overwhelming, remember this: you do not need to have everything figured out.
💜Start small. Focus on what matters most today. Accept support when it is offered. Give yourself permission to rest. Speak to yourself with the same kindness you would offer another new mom.
💜Mental steadiness is not about having perfect days. It is built one gentle moment at a time.
💜 Motherhood is not something you master overnight. Give yourself the grace to learn, adjust, and grow one day at a time.
💜What helped you stay grounded during your early weeks of motherhood? Share below, we would love to hear from you.
