Memorial Day honors those who never made it back home.
My dad served in Vietnam and was able to come home. Too many others were not as fortunate, and their families have faced an empty seat at the table every year since.
Today is for them. The Gold Star families, the names engraved on the wall of a memorial, and the children who only know their parents through stories.
We owe them more than just a long weekend.

Thank you to the Cobb Board of Elections for moving quickly, and to the poll workers who have been on their feet since before sunrise, keeping our democracy running.”
Redmon encouraged voters to confirm their assigned precinct and bring a valid photo ID. Voters can verify their polling location and sample ballot at the Georgia My Voter Page at mvp.sos.ga.gov.

A United Cobb means clear, accessible communication about the issues that affect daily life in our community. If you live or drive in East Cobb, you’ve seen the construction on Lower Roswell near Johnson Ferry. Here’s the quick rundown.
This roadwork is a 2011 SPLOST-funded project designed to improve traffic flow and reduce crashes along a stretch of road that sees close to 37,000 vehicles a day. Crews had to relocate gas, telecom, stormwater, and electrical lines before major road work could begin. Because it’s a live road, lane closures are limited to certain hours, which adds to the timeline. I spoke with the Cobb DOT Director directly, and the project is on schedule to wrap in November.
I’ll keep bringing you updates like this because clear information builds trust. For more on this and other District 3 issues, visit KevinForCobb.com/Cobb.
Two days left to vote early in Cobb. Polls close Friday, May 15 at 7 PM. After tomorrow, your next chance is election day, Tuesday, May 19.
Three closest early voting spots for District 3:
East Cobb Government Service Center
Tim D. Lee Senior Center
Cobb Elections Main Office
Open today and tomorrow, 7 AM to 7 PM. You can vote at any of Cobb’s 13 early voting locations. Bring a photo ID.
I’m Kevin Redmon, the Democratic candidate for Cobb County Commission, District 3, and I’d appreciate your vote!
