I started the Black Jukebox vinyl Disco/House series back in 2011 💿🖤
Fast forward to 2026… and we’ve just hit release number 38 🚀
What began as a series focused on Disco, House and Deep House edits & reworks — presented in a classic various artists format — slowly evolved into something deeper 🌌
Over the years, Black Jukebox transformed into a platform for full original artist EPs: records with little to no obvious samples, yet still carrying that warm, dusty analogue DNA ✨🎛️
Along the way we’ve had incredible artists contribute exclusive EPs — from the legendary Arthur Baker (producer of Afrika Bambaataa’s Planet Rock ⚡️ RIP) to Romain FX and Felipe Gordon 🪩
Now for edition 38, Croatian visionary 🇭🇷 steps into the Black Jukebox universe with a truly mesmeric 2-tracker 🌙
Based in Zagreb, Ilija has carved out a remarkable legacy over more than two decades — releasing 100+ vinyl EPs and 8 studio albums while collaborating with names like Robert Owens, Greg Wilson, Faze Action and Ron Trent 🎹🔥
‘Euphonia’ 🚀 opens with deep Detroit futurism wrapped in slick Electro-funk energy ⚙️
A climbing sawtooth bassline snakes through shimmering synth work while crisp drums guide the track into a low-slung retro-futuristic trip to the moon 🌌🌕
‘Late Checkout’ 🌅 drifts into warmer analogue territory — rich pads, Prelude-era Disco flashes, elegant synth phrasing and smooth machine funk balancing somewhere between Salsoul soulfulness and modern Electro sophistication 🪩🤖
