Everyone is your target market?

No, no, no.

When you try to appeal to absolutely everyone, the impact is diluted.

Sure, loads of people like ice cream - but will you get a group of people agreeing on the same flavour? Ask any ice cream scooper if a family has ever come in and ordered four of the same thing.

Narrow it down as much as possible.

Think of your best customer or customers.

- Who are they?
- What age are they?
- What do they like?
- Where do they hang out?
- What common threads tie my BEST customers together?

Answer those questions and you’ll be able to tailor your branding and marketing to those people.
