Wrapping up a really, really cool race weekend, cannot thank Open Throttle Racing and World Racing League enough. Wrote up a review on the personal page but want to make a pitch to any racers, young and old looking to develop. Not trying to sell anything, sharing and giving perspective on our own development.

The path:
2021: moved from karting to Spec Miata (no regrets—the foundation is unmatched).
2023–2025: tried endurance…then went all-in. By year’s end we’ll have 15 WRL races since 2024.

Seat-time math (why this matters):
SCCA sprint weekend: ~2.25 hours in the seat
WRL endurance weekend: ~5.33 hours in the seat
15 WRL races ≈ ~80 hours driving → about 35–36 SCCA weekends, roughly three full sprint seasons of seat time packed into two years.

What we’ve gained:
Longer stints = deeper racecraft (tire/fuel management, traffic, consistency)
Historic tracks + stacked fields (often with drivers you watch on TV)
A paddock full of good people with nonstop learning
and amazing photos to document it all

What’s next:
Open Throttle Racing is doubling down on driver development in 2026 with a clear ladder to the top tier of WRL. It's something I highly, highly recommend if you're looking to develop in 2026, I am pretty sure the seats are filling up fast though.

We’ve seen a lot in racing, but this weekend was different. Open Throttle fought through big challenges, then still showed up and gutted out a 14-hour race. No excuses, just grit. They helped take the car from P16 to P4 in GP1. That says everything.

Huge thanks to —this result doesn’t happen without them.

Championship-wise, we’re sitting P2 nationally, P3 in the east, and P4 in the west. Still a long season ahead, but we know the car has more in it. We’re already working to pull that pace out in the second half of the year.

Next up is Road Atlanta—Antonio’s home track—late July. That gives us time to prep, log sim hours, and maybe bring in some consistency on the driver side. We’re in the fight.
