π¨ GREEN LIGHT: SPONSORSHIP SECURED! π¨
Great news, VRC engineers! We are thrilled to announce that the Department of Engineering has officially approved our sponsorship request for the VRC Engineering Competition! πποΈ
A massive thank you to the Department of Mechanical Engineering Program, Vietnamese-German University for believing in our vision to bridge the gap between classroom theory and hands-on engineering application. Thanks to their incredible support, our teams now have the green light and the resources they need:
+ π οΈ Workspace & Equipment: Access to the Innovation Hub and 3D printers.
+ π¨βπ« Technical Oversight: Faculty Advisor mentorship to ensure safety and validate your engineering iterations.
+ 𧡠Seed Materials: 2 spools of PETG Filament per team supplied for prototyping and manufacturing your "Must Build" components.
WHATβS NEXT? KICKING OFF PHASE 2! βοΈ
With the resources locked in, it's time to turn those CAD models into reality! We are officially moving into Phase 2: Design Sprint & Technical Prototyping. The time for theory is overβitβs time for 3D fabrication, system assembly, and performance testing!
Get your CAD files ready, optimize your weight distribution, and fire up the printers. The race to the championship starts right here in the workshop! ππ₯
Drop a π§ in the comments if your team is ready to build!
"Engineering isn't found in a textbook. It's found at the limit of a 10-minute heat." ποΈπ₯
Today, we stop calculating and start competing. Registration for VRC Engineering Competition is officially OPEN.
We aren't offering a generic trophy. We are offering something far more valuable: The Engineering Scar Tissue. VRC is a self-organized, high-stakes gauntlet designed to transform students into Engineers.
π‘ WHY COMPETE? (THE VALUE PROPOSITION)
In a job interview, "I studied CAD" is a sentence. "I engineered a 3D-printed racing prototype that survived a 10-minute high-thermal endurance heat on a 2-million VND budget" is a career.
By joining the Grid, your team will master:
+ Mechanical Integrity: Designing suspension that doesn't snap at the first corner. ποΈ
+ Thermal Dynamics: Keeping a brushed motor alive for 10 minutes of peak load. π‘οΈ
+ Frugal Innovation: Sourcing, budgeting, and optimizing every single VND. π°
+ Operational Strategy: Executing high-pressure, 30-second battery swaps in the pit lane. π οΈβ±οΈ
β οΈ THE MISSION PARAMETERS (THE "HARD GATES")
+ THE 2M CEILING: Everythingβcar, battery, and radioβmust fit under a 2,000,000 VND total cost. This is the ultimate test of resourcefulness. Ceiling.
+ OPERATIONAL FEE: 55.000VND per team member. 100% of this fee goes directly into the track infrastructure, organization and cash prizes for the winners. π
π
THE ROADMAP: THE 5-WEEK SPRINT
+ TODAY (MAR 30) to APRIL 5: Registration Opens. First come, first served. π’
+ APRIL 06 | 17:00: MANDATORY TECHNICAL SEMINAR. This is the "Technical Deep-Dive." Attendance is mandatory for point eligibility. π¨βπ«
+ APRIL 6 to MAY 12: DESIGN SPRINT & TECHNICAL PROTOTYPING: CAD design, 3D fabrication of βMust Buildβ components, system assembly and performance testing.
+ MAY 14: EDR & CMR Documentation Due. π
+ MAY 15: CHAMPIONSHIP DAY. Static Scrutineering + 10-Minute Endurance Heats. ππ

Fast laps are for hobbyists. Reliability and Strategy are for engineers. π¨βπ¬
To be crowned VRC Champion, you must survive the most grueling regulated RC test ever hosted at VGU. We have officially adopted a Dual-Heat Endurance Format designed to test your machine's soul, your teamβs pit strategy, and your driver's discipline under pressure. ποΈπ₯
π₯ THE CREW: TEAM FORMATION A championship machine isn't built by one person. Every registered team MUST consist of 2 to 4 members.
We aren't just giving away a trophy; we are making you earn 1,000 calculated points. π
PART 1: THE STATIC SCRUTINY (350 PTS) π Before a wheel turns, the engineering must be proven.
+ Engineering Design Report (EDR) β 250 Pts: Your CAD logic and "Iteration History" are put on trial by VRC Judges. π¨βπ«
+ Cost & Manufacturing Report (CMR) β 100 Pts: Prove you built a champion for under 2,000,000 VND. Every gram of filament counts. π°
PART 2: THE DYNAMIC GAUNTLET (550 PTS) π Qualifying followed by two high-intensity, head-to-head endurance heats.
β±οΈ THE QUALIFYING SESSION
+ Format: 3 laps: 1 warm-up (Out-lap) followed by 2 timed hot laps.
+ The Grid: The fastest lap determines your rank. Pole Position gets the front right. π₯
π HEAT 1: THE MORNING ENDURANCE (250 PTS)
+ The Goal: Survive in a 10-minutes Wheel-to-Wheel Race. This is the first test of your custom suspension and chassis under race stress. ποΈ
+ Scoring: Points awarded relative to the heat leader.
π HEAT 2: THE AFTERNOON REDEMPTION (300 PTS)
+ The Goal: Consistency. Starting positions are determined by Heat 1 performance. ποΈπ¨
BONUS AWARDS (+100 PTS) βοΈ Fastest Lap (+25), Manufacturing Innovation (+25), Reliability (+25) and the Value Engineering Award (Best performance-to-cost ratio) (+25).π§
π οΈ THE MANDATORY PIT STOP (THE "WINDOW") Every team MUST perform one battery swap and thermal check during each heat.
β οΈ THE PENALTY SYSTEM: DIRECT DEDUCTIONS Infractions will result in Direct Point Deductions from your 1,000-point total. Drive clean, or watch your ranking disappear. ππ«
π THE POWER UNIT: TECHNICAL UPDATE
+ Previous Spec: 1500 mAh (Rescinded)
+ New Spec: 2S LiPo (7.4V), 2200 mAh (30C). π
THE GRID IS CALLING. REGISTRATION OPENS TOMORROW (30/03)! π

Meet the arena where digital theory hits acrylic reality: The VGU Badminton Courts. This isn't just a place for leisure; itβs a high-friction, zero-margin-for-error technical circuit. ποΈ
Weβve finalized the standard competition layout. This map is your input variable. You cannot engineer a winning machine without understanding the soil it races on. πΊοΈ
The Proving Ground Breakdown: π
+π΄ SECTOR 1 (Red Zone): A challenging entry requiring maximum stability during trail braking. Turns 01 and 03 test your front-end grip, while 02 and 03 test your side-to-side transition.
+π’ SECTOR 2 (Green Zone): The Technical Spine. A tight, rhythmic chicane complex (Turns 04-07). Misjudge your suspension rebound or steering kinematics here, and you will traction roll into a 1000-point dynamic failure. π
+π΅ SECTOR 3 (Blue Zone): High-Speed Duration. The exit out of Turn 08 opens into a crucial multi-radius section (Turns 09 and 10) before the heavy braking of Turn 11 back onto the main straight. This is where motor efficiency and battery thermal management define your endurance. πβ‘
Technical Mandate: The Constraints
+Footprint: A 12.6 x 20m technical arena. π
+πSurface: High-grip asphalt/acrylic composite. Traction roll territory.
+β οΈLayout: A complex 11-turn technical layout designed to punish lazy suspension geometry and reward calculated kinematics.
Engineers: Analyze the map. The grid is waiting. π
