Rev. Jesse Jackson, the longtime civil rights leader and Baptist minister, has passed away at the age of 84. Known for his decades of activism and public service, Jackson consistently framed his pursuit of racial justice within the language of faith and biblical conviction.

As an ordained minister who worked closely with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Jackson often spoke about justice as a reflection of God’s heart and called believers to live out their faith in the public square. Though his life and political involvement drew both strong support and criticism, his ministry emphasized hope, human dignity, and the belief that all people are created in the image of God.

As we reflect on his legacy, we are reminded that the Christian calling includes both proclamation and compassion — loving God while seeking justice for our neighbors.

Please join in prayer for his family and for the continued witness of the Church in matters of righteousness and reconciliation.
