About a week ago I was feeling inspired (with the help of some👹🥬) after buying a dozen mango colored roses and naturally came to the completely reasonable conclusion that I should surround myself with roses at all times.

After doing what can only be described as a dangerous amount of research, I stumbled across a website with some absolutely gorgeous varieties. Before I knew it, I had placed an order with very little understanding of what exactly I had just committed myself to.

I was expecting a handful of starter sized bare root plants.

What arrived was apparently my new personality 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

After scrambling together every spare pot I could find and making a few emergency purchases, I somehow managed to accommodate my now rather aggressive rose collection.

Years ago I grew lilies and loved having fresh blooms throughout the garden, but it’s been a while since I’ve ventured back into flower growing. Roses are a whole different beast, but I’m genuinely excited for the challenge.

Mostly because I’ve already made the mistake of telling my daughter the plan is to have fresh cut flowers whenever she wants them. So now her bougie little self has expectations, and failure is no longer an option 🌹

Send me all the green thumb vibes, rose growing wisdom, and thoughts and prayers for these plants… and maybe for me too.

After tonight we’ve got just ONE more market before we officially wrap up our spring market season and shift our attention back to online sales 🌿✨

Since I’m actually remembering to post for once, I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who follows along and supports our little backyard nursery. Seriously, whether you stop by to say hi at markets, share updates on your plants, or just cheer us on from the internet sidelines, we appreciate you more than you know 💚

We may not always have the ultra rare unicorn plants with a $700 price tags, but we put a ton of love and care into everything we grow. Watching you build beautiful collections with our plants is honestly the best part of all of this.
