This morning I want to share a campaign update. Over the last 10 days or so a few supporters and I have made over 1,100 phone calls to potential voters. Before going further, I want to call out Claudia Peebler specifically for making 587 of those calls. She made 231 just yesterday, allowing us to complete our list!

Claudia and I agreed that we contacted many people who were not yet engaged in the process. After our calls, they were. We stressed to them that word of mouth is going to be instrumental in this election. Finding those voters is what kept us going.

I want to stress to you one more time before Tuesday to talk to anyone you can think of that may not yet be engaged. And remind your friends and family and neighbors and anyone else that they need to get to the polls and vote.

I've called and talked to hundreds of voters over the last month. I begin with telling them a little about myself. Former elementary teacher, moved to Derby because of the schools, put two kids through the schools and have a sophomore at DHS now.

I then share that I'm running for the Board of Education because of the activities of the Board over the last few years. And that the primary reason I'm running is the loss of Mr. Hamblin at the High School. Many are not familiar with the details, so I brief them on that. I then follow that up with the fiasco of the attempt to not renew the contracts of the Superintendents. Both are addressed at my blog. People are nearly universal in their disagreement with how those situations were handled. But that is our current Board. For those reasons and others I've detailed on my website, I'm getting a strong sense that people are ready for a new majority.
