Looking for a fun free patriotic event tonight? Come join the Wichita Grand Opera chorus & orchestra on the lawn at Holy Cross Lutheran Church as we celebrate Independence Day a little early. I get to give the signal to fire the cannons!!

What a great time teaching kids at Hyde Elementary to sing, dance and play the pan flute with the Wichita Grand Wichita Grand Opera last week. Kids learned songs from Bizet’s Carmen and Mozart’s The Magic Flute. It’s amazing how quickly these young minds pick up the music!

I’m excited to join Whitney Reader’s team at the Wichita Grand Opera as the part-time Director of Education and Outreach. I have a mission to take music into schools and out into the real world where people need the beauty of this music now more than ever. Whitney Reader is the General and Music Director at Wichita Grand Opera. Whitney had been a conductor in Germany and other European nations for over 15 years before he returned to Wichita to head up the Wichita Grand Opera. Whitney’s vision for WGO sees an expansion of performances including more American operas.
