KMR Scripts is just me, Kevin M Reese (get it? KMR Scripts). We're sitting pretty-- we have no salaries to pay, no rent, no real overhead. For the past 25+ years, I've been a stay-at-home Dad to our four fabulous kids, and to keep this old actor from ripping his hair out, I wrote children's plays and musicals that have been performed all over the world to well over 2 million kids.

So I have all these (70) scripts just sitting on my shelf. And I have the sheet music and performance soundtrack CDs at the ready should a theatre decide to produce one of the musicals.

They're just sitting there.

Meanwhile, theatres are closed up, no income coming in, no salaries going out. I've even heard rumors of some thinking they need to just close the doors permanently. Some lucky ones have endowments or grants or wealthy angels all in place for such a catastrophe as we're experiencing now. Most do not.

So, we-- my VP of Everything (my wife)-- and I decided that to help theatres get back on their feet after all this blows over, KMR Scripts is going to try something that has never been done before (at least not by a major play publisher). We are going to figure out a way to let any theatre that wants to produce one of our shows do it for FREE. Their first KMR Scripts show after this COVID19 cloud lifts-- even if they are a regular customer of ours-- will be comped. No royalty, no script purchase fees, no music rental. Our plays and musicals are fully protected by US and international copyright laws, so those details will need to be addressed-- but, as I said, we're working on it. We just want theatres to concentrate on getting their audiences back and not have to worry about paying for their royalties and rehearsal materials.
