Residents can verify that any contractor they consider is properly registered through the Iowa Division of Labor at https://laborportal.iwd.iowa.gov/iwd_portal/publicSearch/public before signing a contract.

Residents are also reminded that door-to-door sales require a solicitor’s license from the City of Cedar Falls and most repair work also requires a building permit. Obtaining the proper building permits—and ensuring inspections are completed—helps protect homeowners by confirming that repairs meet safety and construction standards.
