I need to make an appointment for dipped nails.
I’m sorry but we don’t offer them.
Why not?
We get asked this occasionally.
The other comment is … I would never do acrylic nails they’re so damaging I will only do dipped nails now.
Let’s dispel some of the lies out there 😀.
Dipped nails are acrylic nails. It’s a different process that uses resin(nail glue and activator) and acrylic powder to create an artificial nail coating. Dipping powder is acrylic powder.
If you choose to dip, be sure to look for these possible red flags of contamination or damage:
Is the tech using fresh powder with you? If not, the powder you are dipping your nails in could contain fungus, germs, the virus causing warts or f***l matter.
Are your nails getting thinner and more sensitive with every removal? It’s because removing acrylic can be more damaging to the nail if the tech is aggressive. The product is harder to remove and time is money so sometimes more aggressive measures are taken unnecessarily. some nail salons want to work more like a deli. Get them in and get them out.
And finally, are you being told dipping is better for your nails than acrylic. The person putting on your nails and the person taking off your nails is responsible for the health of your nails. If the salon is using a high-quality professional product whether it’s acrylic or gel it will not damage your nails. But definitely if they’re being aggressively prepared or unprofessionally ripped off, herein lies the problem.
Stay safe and healthy! That’s why we say you don’t have to come to us but please be educated no matter where you go!
