Biodiversity is rapidly becoming a core economic and risk management issue for global business.

Biodiversity loss ranks among the most severe global risks, alongside climate change and geopolitical instability, and its continued decline could cost the global economy up to US$25 trillion per year.

➡️ This raises a defining question for leaders across business, finance, and policy: How can biodiversity shift from a compliance agenda to a driver of innovation, resilience, and competitive advantage?

📢 At London Climate Action Week, we will convene to explore this question at the event: “The Business of Biodiversity: Protecting Value Chains, Unlocking Growth, and Building Resilient Food Markets through Science”. This session will take place during the 3rd Annual Food Tank Chief Sustainability Officer and Food System Funders Summit, co-hosted by the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT and Food Tank.

This discussion will also mark the official launch of the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT 2026–2030 Strategy, showcasing how science can more effectively connect business, finance, and policy to accelerate the transformation of food and land systems and deliver solutions at scale.

Through the 2026–2030 Strategy, the Alliance reinforces its role in translating scientific knowledge into actionable pathways for change.
