Today we recognize National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day and the reality that Black trans and gender nonconforming people are disproportionately impacted by HIV while being consistently erased from public health conversations.
Stigma keeps people silent.
Silence keeps people isolated.
Isolation puts lives at risk.
Breaking stigma means centering Black trans people in care, in prevention, and in decision making. It means access without barriers and support without conditions.
Black trans lives matter in HIV work. Full stop.
