Show Some Love for Birds this Weekend The 2016 Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) takes place from Friday, February 12 through Monday, February 15.
Hundreds of manatees (Trichechus manatus) huddled together this week at Three Sisters Springs, a warm-water refuge in Crystal River, Florida. To avoid the stress of cold that can be fatal for manatees, they often leave the cool waters of the Gulf of Mexico at this time of year and flock to warmer rivers and springs.
