I recently had the pleasure of joining Dr. Kevin Kosar on the “Understanding Congress” podcast, hosted by the American Enterprise Institute. We discussed a committee that has defined much of my career: the House Ways and Means Committee.
Having spent over a decade on this powerful committee—negotiating pivotal legislation like the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act—I’ve seen firsthand how its work impacts every American. From shaping our tax code to influencing trade, healthcare, and social security, Ways and Means sets the course for our nation’s economic and social policies.
If you’re interested in how Congress really works, or want to understand the forces that shape our economy, I encourage you to listen to this episode.

Had an incredible time as a panelist at the first-ever Fixing Congress event at the University of Pennsylvania Biden Center last week!
It was a day filled with meaningful discussions on how we can push for more solutions and less polarization in Congress.
Grateful for the chance to connect with old friends and fellow former members of the House and Senate.
Check out the link in bio to dive deeper into our conversations, covered by the Washington Post & the New York Times.
Let’s keep the momentum going!
