Starry Night with Ramadan Touch! 😍🌙🕌

Our young artists took inspiration from Vincent van Gogh and added an Islamic perspective, transforming Starry Night with mosques, lanterns, and glowing details. Creativity truly led the way!

🌟 Ramadan Kareem to all — may this month be filled with light, joy, and imagination!

This week, our classroom turned into a little art studio of discovery! 🎨 As the students explored Islamic geometry, I brought in a handmade Islamic lamp for a bit of inspiration — and instantly, curiosity filled the room. They began asking:
💬 “How did you make it?”
💬 “What’s a mosaic?”
💬 “Where did this kind of art come from?”

Following the child’s lead, one quest at a time. As I was reading I Am We: A Book of Community by Susan Verde, I realized it was the perfect opportunity to start group projects where students collaborate as one team — building community while exploring their curiosity.

So… I followed their wonder! 🌈

We began a series of paper mosaic activities inspired by their questions — connecting art, culture, and history.

Through mosaic making, children are:
🧩 Strengthening fine motor skills
🎨 Exploring patterns, symmetry, and color balance
💭 Building focus, patience, and creativity
🤝 Learning collaboration and shared expression

Every question, every sparkle of curiosity — that’s where learning begins. 🌙 Where every child leads the quest.
