Mark 8:33
But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men
The enemy can use good people who have the right intentions to stand in the way of what God is doing in your life
There is no doubt that Peter loved Jesus. He wanted the best for His Master and was there to support the work in any way that he could. Which is why when Jesus began to speak of His need to go to Jerusalem and suffer…Peter rebuked Him. It was not out of arrogance or hatred; he simply didn’t think that was the direction Jesus needed to go. Peter did not recognize that the enemy was using him to stand in the way of the ultimate will of God for Jesus…neither do the people in your life.
There may be those around you who genuinely care about you and want the best for you. But unknowingly they are being used by the enemy to stand in the way of what God wants to do in your life. Their words of caution are sincere; yet those words are planting seeds of doubt in your mind about what God is doing. Be careful today who you are listening to. Never allow the sincere doubts of others cloud your judgment about what God is leading you to do. Listen carefully to the voice of God in your spirit and allow Him to lead you. There are things God is doing right now that others don’t understand; so never allow their inability to understand get in the way of God’s divine plan. Move forward confidently and put the doubts of others behind you!
Romans 12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service
