🏁 NASCAR Star Jamie McMurray To Pilot Sadler-Stanley Racing No. 16VA in SMART Modified Tour Race at Franklin County Speedway

McMurray To Become The Latest Name To Wheel Pace-O-Matic All-Star Machine on May 29

EMPORIA, Va. – Former Daytona 500 winning NASCAR Cup Series driver and current TV personality Jamie McMurray will drive for Sadler-Stanley Racing in the upcoming SMART Modified Tour event at Franklin County Speedway on Friday, May 29.

McMurray will compete in the No. 16VA Pace-O-Matic entry for the team, alongside Luke Baldwin in the No. 7VA. McMurray becomes the latest driver to wheel the “all-star” entry for Sadler-Stanley Racing this year, which has already included a list of NASCAR greats, and young, rising competitors.

McMurray will have the opportunity to race wheel-to-wheel with his son, Carter, who competes full-time on the SMART Modified Tour in the No. 40 PSR Products entry.

“I haven’t raced anything since the Daytona 500 in 2021, so I’m definitely a little nervous about getting up to speed quickly,” Jamie McMurray said. “At the same time, I’m really excited for the chance to race against Carter, which brings a whole new level of pressure and excitement to the experience. Huge thanks to Hermie Sadler and Bill Stanley for giving me this opportunity.”

McMurray won the 2010 Daytona 500 driving for Chip-Ganassi Racing. He competed in 584 career NASCAR Cup Series events, scoring seven victories. McMurray also competed in nearly 200 races in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, and 25 in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He currently works as a broadcast personality in events on FOX and The CW, covering the Cup & O’Reilly Auto Parts divisions.

The SMART Modified Tour returns to action on Friday, May 29 for the Kenny Minter Classic at Franklin County Speedway. The race is slated to begin at 8 p.m.
